Show & Tell Friday~

This weeks show & tell...I am showing a little foot stool I've painted for my grandson. I picked it up from a resale store (soooo using Kelli's term there lol) It only cost 4 bucks. It was originally white with a little sailboat and the name "Adam" painted on it.... but I saw its true calling. First, I painted the white stool black, then I made a copy of the skull & cross bones and transferred it onto the stool. Then I painted, shaded--repainted and then sanded it to give it an aged look. Lastly, I sprayed a semi-gloss finish coat over the top of the stool. Taaaaaaa daaaaaaaaa--- and so I give you--- A pirate stool~

  1. Cheryl,
Love the little pirate stool. Your little "pirate" is going to have the best birthday party around!
Don't know if you've already got a plan for the cake, but if not, here's a cute idea for a pirate hat cake from Family Fun Magazine. Just go to FamilyFun.com/bake-off, then click on Cakes and Cupcakes, then click on New Cakes, then scroll down to Pirate Hat Cake.
    Enjoy!

P.S. I've always told my daughter that she isn't allowed to date until she's 95. She just recently got braces. She wanted to get invisaligns, but Hubs told her he wanted her to get the old-fashioned kind 'cause she needed to be "uglied up" to keep away the boys. lol What a guy, huh!
