Show us your Crown Party~
I just finished my crown this morning. This is the first time I've made a crown using chicken wire. I must say, I like it.Instead of just a straight curvy top, I actually cut out circles into the wire for a more scalloped look. I wrapped lace around the edges of the crown to keep it from poking anyone wishing to wear it. I even added a "corset" piece in the back to fit fat heads :-Pokokok, or those wishing to wear it pulled down more on your head. (which I prefer) I don't like the look of a crown that sits directly on top of the head-- my goodness.... if you were to sneeze that sucker would become a lethal weapon! You can check out more crowns by visiting Andrea over at Vintage Bella.
Gorgeous! Glinda-the Good Witch-never had it so good!

This is a very nice crown. Love the fact you took the time to finish the edges and love the corset back too. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh!! That is amazing! I love the way you did the top of the crown...so pretty! And the lace and flowers on the front...absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful crown! Wow - so creative!!
ReplyDeleteThe corset bit is absolutely genius. You know, I suppose that many years ago, in Marie Antoinette's time, that crown may have actually fit on someone's waist!
ReplyDeleteBut truly, it looks like a lovely vintage piece that is fit for the head of a queen! Enjoy it. You did a superb job.
I love, love, love the way you wrapped the ribbon around the top of the chicken wire. It makes it so fancy. Such a nice contrast to the wire itself. Thanks for sharing your art.
ReplyDeleteYour crown is to die for!!!!
