Best Yard Sale

ev-er. With the nicer-warmer weather comes nicer- more fabulous yard sales. I had planned to go to three, I had the addresses all lined up so I could hit them in order.... but.... the first yard sale I hit took all my time, and most of my money :-) I spent $55.00..... *gasp* but I got 5 boxes over flowing with treasures. Seriously, I was having palpitations. Look at all this! Face molds, 50 yards of wire edged ribbon, circle cutter, magnifier, stencil brushes, glitter, 2 packages of tags, an old spindle...Some shiny blingie jewelry...
Paper punches, scissors, wire, pins, pens and fabric cutters & blades.....
Books, quilting & miniature quilt magazines, stencils and alphabet stickers... An embossing light box with all the supplies! Brass stencils, chalk, stampers, embossing tools, chalk erasers..... all new still in the packages... I've always wanted to try embossing paper...Barbies, Kellies and babies too! That old skipper doll is so going on etsy.
Quilters plastic sewing thingies... Santa ornament kit, a kaboodle filled with sequins and other fabulous treasures...
A brand new kit for making your own rubber stamps. All the pieces are there EXCEPT the instructions! I wrote to the company asking for help :-) There is the original kit -plus an extra larger set to make bigger stamps with.
Some seashells... I always buy seashells when I come across them. I picked up three Shel Silverstein books. A box full of scotch tape, floss and cross stitch fabric.... A beautiful Cross and a book of daily affirmations :-)
More jewelry...A collection of thimbles...Some miniatures for the Barbie house...Lastly, some sterling silver jewelry...
Just four of those carded charms totaled over $60.00. (each one they had bought for $15.00)
There is a lot more.... but those are the highlights from the best yard sale ev-ah~
Oh... and the guy running it told me in a few weeks he was going to be having another one. Shout out to: Diannia, Faye, Sandra and Patricia--- I am not telling you where its located. *wink*

Jointed little Teddy Bear

Isn't this little bear the cutest? Of course, I just had to attach him to a spoon to make him into a necklace ;-)Not much gets past me these days before I grab it and attach it to a spoon~ Flowers, crosses and bits and pieces all get attached...I'm needing more supplies ;-)

Recent Jewelry

I've been really cranking out the ol' spoon necklaces recently. I made these two for my mother. The brass circle with the photo inside it is my mother when she was a toddler. These sugar shell spoons are my favorite spoons, I love the shape of them!Boxed up and ready to go...I also made a large spoon with the letter "M" that hangs on a polka dot bag. I made two Hello Kitty spoons for my grandaughter. The large one she can hang on her back pack when she starts pre-school next year. The smaller spoon necklace is made out of a small souvenir spoon. The little Hello Kitty face I pulled off a pair of shoes she wore when she was just two years old.... ahhhhh. Here is my grandaughter at her art table with my cat Pee Wee. She is all about Hello Kitty right now.... paper, pencils, stickers... the works. They don't have "tea parties" they have art workshops! The rest of these are up for grabs $10 each if anyone is interested, each one comes with a ball chain for instant wearing. I've got Cross Necklaces...This one is fabulous... a dragon!For the painter...Cross pendant with a faceted ruby red stone at the top...Spring time flowers :-)A celtic cross with vintage repurposed jewelry...I just realized today that the new added page to my blog is one of those "stand alone pages" where you can't add new posts too--- I was under the impression that I could add new "posts" to it just like a blog... but noooooooo, so I've had to scratch that idea.... I'm back to listing things on etsy :-P

New couch and chair

I bought a plastic barbie couch for .50¢ a few months ago from a thrift store. It was missing the entire back panel of the couch and the bottom as well. I added illustration board cut to fit the openings to fix it up. I wanted a matching chair for the couch, so I used parts of the couch as a pattern and made one completely out of illustration board. I used hot glue to adhere some vintage fabric to the set cutting it to fit the contour of each piece as I went. I added pink trim to the bottom of the set and painted the legs of the couch and chair black.... the matching tall stool was made using a lid off a hair spray can. Barbie is a happy girl~

Turn the page....

I am in the process of adding more pages to my blog... I am going to be selling some of my jewelry directly from another page linked to this blog which is called "The Tarnished Crown Boutique." I have enjoyed selling on etsy, but it takes a lot of time to list everything one at a time. This way I can take a photo of several pieces at a time and list them by numbers and hopefully sell things faster and easier this way.

Mardi Gras

party tonight! *woot-woot*... I thought I'd make some fun noise makers to take with me to share with a handful of my buddies tonight. These buddies are appreciative of the things I make so I really like to make them things :-) These are made from the cardboard spools that ribbon comes wrapped on. I poke a hole into the side of the spool and add some small bells then I hot glue a thick corn dog stick for the handle of each noise maker. Then decorate until finished! Easy peasy~
